No Reservations: “Into the Fire”
Just finished watching this—one of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite shows. Tony goes back to his old restaurant, Les Halles, to see if he can still hang on the line. Bonus: Eric Ripert (he of the three Michelin stars) pops in to work the grill station for dinner service.
The episode captures the controlled chaos of a busy kitchen beautifully, and also the supreme satisfaction of, as Bourdain says, “an honest day’s work.”
